How did it all start? An old friend, an "accidental event organiser" who started at a fairly young age, approached us and asked for help to "digitalise his events" so he could compete with other organisers and be different.
That began our journey into event management tools and the emergence of our lucky draw software, version 0.1, which was officially used at a corporate annual dinner. That event had a few hundred consolation prizes to draw, plus about 20 grand prize winners drawn on stage by VIPs.
The most important feature was that the draw had to be completely random, with no one able to influence the winner selection. We opted for a browser-based approach, since everything was HTML and internet-ready. This meant we only needed a simple browser to run the lucky draw, and it gave us the flexibility to customise the background and titles.
It was a success — the organiser and the client loved it. It inspired us to aim for something better, more elegant and simpler to use. And so our journey continued.
